From throwaway culture to slow lifestyle and slow fashion

The speed of population growth has transformed the world into a never ending fast spend and fast supply space that keeps growing and never stops. The technology and the internet have also impacted the way humans behave, and this way of thinking has caused a never ending consumism that values speed and change over durability and quality. This thought process has shown to be applicable to almost every aspect of a XXI century humans: relationships, food, jobs and also fashion.

But times are changing. And the world Is changing too. The new generations are feeling much more identified with a way of living that doesn’t harm the environment, and the offer of such products is nowadays better in variety and cost.

When we talk about fashion, there are several ways of making clothing more sustainable: factories to guarantee #chemical-free processes during the manufacture, the use of recycled fabrics or from #naturalsources, #timeless collections that are fashionable across the seasons, fine designs with durable materials that can be used an reused, workers receive fair wages and fair labor conditions, and much more not even mentioned here.

#slowfashion is more than just a trend. It is a way of living, and it is here to stay. New generations and technology will increase affordability with time, but let’s remember: it will be only the first adopters the ones who will make it to history.
