Every little effort counts

Hummingbirds live anywhere from Alaska to the southernmost tip of South America, and not only they are the most beautiful and fashionable birds of them all, but they keep surprising us with how amazing they are.

We can find a lot of interesting facts about them, like they have the fastest wings and heartbeats, and the smallest eggs. They drink up to two times their body weight and they are more #effectivepollinators than bees. The Bee Humming Bird, in particular, is the smallest bird on earth. They weigh between 2 and 2.6 g and have an average length of 5.8 cm.

Despite its size, the hummingbird is a tough #survivalist. They drink conspicuous amounts of sugary water that could kill any other animal, and they do this to compensate for the fast metabolism that they have. Also, just getting through the night is an endeavor that tests their physical abilities like no other, having to drop their body heat to the minimum to reach a hibernation-like state that lets them preserve their energy until the next day.

At this point, you might be asking why we talk about hummer birds here if we are a marketplace and our purpose should be to capture more customers. Well, at WONENA, we are completely inmersed in this sustainable lifestyle and culture, and we believe in doing the best for the greater in our planet.

We are building a sustainable marketplace, but really sustainable (meaning we'll grow slowly, but our actions count towards a main goal), and just like the hummingbirds, we are colorful, eager to work to defend our values and truly believers that every little thing adds up to achieve a #greatersustainability.

Our journey is guided by love, trust, and a vision of fashion that rejects the fast, disposable trends that harm our environment and wallets. We take pride in handpicking brands that share our commitment to sustainability, where even the tiniest strides make a significant contribution to the greater good.

What are you doing to achieve greater sustainability with your fashion? Help us spread the word!
